Suppose, someone is working on a long and tedious task (learning English seems not quite fitting, I think, it's too...continuous; I just stumbled upon this question in the context of learning physics (on physics.SE actually), which needs greater bunches of efforts per visible/feelable step).
I helped him on some intermediate step, to work through a problem that took some work and had a result at last. Now I want a nice phrase for "parting", especially to encourage him to continue to invest efforts that might often give results less quick than one expects.
The German "Alles Gute weiterhin" would be perfect, but not with a literal translation of the word.
So basically, I need something like
"All the best for your future life"
only much less pompous and a little more specifically applying to the context of continuing with what went before.
I ended up with "good luck further" after some thoughts, but it's quite clumsy...
